Standards and Certifications

We have a fully qualified and certified team of shipwrights and marine technicians with years of experience. We have half a dozen full-time staff members available 24/7 for emergencies and between 20 to 25 people who regularly work with us. We also hire people for particular jobs that require specialized certifications. Through our network, we can find mariners with tickets up to the 500 tons masters ticket. We only work with people who not only have the appropriate official tickets for the job, but also meet our standards for customer service skills and ethics.

Repairs, towing and salvage certifications: We are certified by Transport Canada and continuously work in collaboration with the Coast Guards. In fact, one of our drivers is an ex coast-guard. We are all PCOC certified with at least operators cards for vessels under 12 passengers and under 5 tons. We have the Marine Emergency Duties A3 certification and have certified electricians and Volvo factory-trained mechanics (one of the few motor companies that makes engines specifically for marine applications).

Ethical standards: We have a great reputation in terms of ethics and honesty because we pay a lot of attention to the needs and requests of our customers. We never push services on our customers when we know they are not essential.

Canadian Boats in American Waters: If you are Canadian and your boat needs towing, on-scene repairs or even salvaging, we can still help you. We have built a partnership with a company in Bellingham so that your boat can be brought back to Canadian waters.

Selection standards for the vessels: We use many factors to determine the best vessel for the job. The weather is one of them and Cats are better for a harsh weather. We also determine the depths of the waters we are going to. For shallow waters, we use the jet boats. Then, we take into account the number of people who will need to be carried as well as the strength of the motor required. We think on ecological and economical terms and try to use the most fuel-efficient boat for the job. In emergency situations, we focus on our clients' needs and just take the boat that will do the job in the fastest and most reliable way.
